Excitement is building for this year’s Castlewellan Show, with just six weeks to go until the much-anticipated event takes place on Saturday 13 July at Castlewellan Forest Park.
The organising committee officially launched the 2024 show at a special launch evening held on Tuesday 28 May, where supporters, sponsors and members of the local community gathered to celebrate the return of one of County Down’s most popular summer events.
The committee was delighted to welcome John Henning OBE, President of the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society, along with his wife Ann Henning, who is also an organising committee member at Castlewellan Show. Their presence added to what was a very enjoyable and positive evening, highlighting the strong support for the show and the important role agricultural shows play in rural communities.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of Castlewellan Forest Park, this year’s show promises a fantastic family day out featuring livestock competitions, equestrian events, poultry, rabbits, trade stands, delicious food, children’s entertainment and much more.
With preparations now well underway, organisers are looking forward to welcoming exhibitors, visitors and families from across the region for another memorable day celebrating agriculture, local produce and community spirit.
